Brett Rutecky's CTABots is a tool that, in my opinion, ​tackles 2 ​situations at once. It's like killing to birds with one stone. First, it does override the problem caused by modern browsers and plugins that kill the autoplay of your sales videos by playing a short and direct call to action message, as soon as the page loads.

The second thing that it does, is that by having a countdown timer, it creates urgency in the eyes of your visitors. As you can experience on this page, where I have installed a bot called Nicky.

What do you get when buying CTABots?

Well, you get 3 (10 if you go for OTO1) different personas that you can configure your page to use. Look at the image below to see them all. As you can see in the image, they're all cool and inviting.

But that's not all, you also get to give them different voices, in fact, there are 7 (15 if you take OTO1) different voices and 5 different languages: English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.

​My Only Gripe

Is that it doesn't work on mobile. Ok, let me rephrase that, it does work, but it doesn't scale down for the size of a mobile screen without extra coding. On this page, I've decided to not showing it on small screens, only on desktop. For me, no big deal, especially when I see that a slight majority of my visitors are on desktop anyway.
​​UPDATE: ​I have seen the CTA bots on other pages being responsive, so it might be a problem caused by my theme.​​​

​​​Should you buy it?

It depends on what you're trying to achieve. It can certainly give your sites some action and the inclusion of a countdown timer and the call to action button is a good twist that makes the whole thing not just a geeky gimmick. In this case, it certainly does something useful. I like it!
